About Us
A Soul Artist's Journey
Born on January 25, 1955, in Bulawayo, Rhodesia, Colin Frank Thwaits grew up surrounded by the vast landscapes of Africa—the Matopos hills, Chimanimani Mountains, and the Zambezi River. Art runs deep in the Thwaits family, tracing back to Thomas Thwaits, who arrived in Cape Town from England in the early 1800s as an Art Master. His granddaughter Emily Thwaits became a renowned artist whose flower works still grace Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Colin's self-taught technique developed through years of experimentation, painting from the soul rather than formal training. As his wife Johanita observed, his art is like conversations he has with his soul. If one of his paintings resonates with you, you've shared a precious moment in time with him. Now a full-time professional artist for five years, Colin continues to create meaningful work that connects deeply with collectors, designers, and art enthusiasts.
